First adventures at Beech Beavers
Beech is our original Beaver Colony. Beavers came to the Scouts in the 1980s, and Pat Vernon started Beech in 1986. It’s for children aged 6 to 8.
Beavers is where Scouting starts. Each week brings games, crafts, stories and the chance to try something new, all while making friends and growing in confidence.
Can’t make Mondays? Our other Colony, Sycamore Beavers, meets on Thursdays, 6:00–7:00pm.

Our centenary year
2026 is 1st Hazel Grove’s centenary year. To mark it, each section planned a special camp or trip; for Beavers, an overnight stay at a theme park.
