Sunday 29th April at Lyme Park – Meet at the main Car Park near the Hall at 10am
We hope that you and your family will join us for a family day out at Lyme Park on Sunday 29th April. We are planning a short hike of around 3.5 miles that will be suitable for all the family, but may not be suitable for pushchairs. We have booked glorious sunshine that will be ideal for a picnic and there will be plenty of time for the children to use the fantastic play equipment in Crow Wood. If you are a National Trust member entrance is free to the park; otherwise there will be a charge of £7 per vehicle for parking.
What should I bring?
You will need to bring a picnic that we are planning to eat after the walk, so you can leave lunch in your car. We suggest that you wear boots or strong trainers (wellingtons are not great for walking). A small rucksack is a good idea for parents to hold drinks, a snack, waterproofs and perhaps a jumper as it can get windy on higher ground. There is no need for any uniform, but children can wear their neckers if they wish.
Who can attend?
You can bring the whole family. All children should be accompanied by a nominated adult, with a ratio of one adult to four children as a minimum.
Do I need to book?
There is no need to book, just turn up on the day. Don’t let any rain put you off at the last minute as the children will enjoy the day whatever the weather. Please check on our web site 1hg.org before your leave home.
We are looking forward to seeing you on Sunday 29th April 2018.
Best wishes and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
